Ordering Process
When ordering a cantilever rack from A Plus Warehouse, customers should first decide whether they want to order individual parts or a preconfigured unit.
There are a few simple rules customers must follow to assure their product operation will be efficient and safe. The right number of opens with the correct capacity must be ordered. For example, a 4000 pound load requires 4 arms with at least 1000 pound capacity per arm. Be sure to also consider overhang. For example, a 20 foot run with 4 arms is going to have an overhang of 5 feet (20/4). This will leave 2.5 feet overhang on the left and right side.
Here are some questions customers may consider asking:
Single or double sided uprights?
What size?
How many arms total?
How many arms per column?
What capacity per arm, and do you prefer straight or incline arms?
What spread are you looking for between uprights?
Ordering preconfigured cantilever racking takes a lot of the work out of the equation for customers. If customers need help, of course A Plus Warehouse is also there to help!
Starters and Adders
Many racks at A Plus Warehouse are to be ordered in starters and adders. A starter is a complete unit that can stand alone, and an adder shares a side with a prior unit. It can therefore not stand alone. A run of 5 shelving units requires 4 adders and 1 starter. Three runs of 5 shelving units each requires 3 starters and 12 adders.
Rack Safety
When installing racks, customers need to be sure to install properly. Most local mandates require that leges be bolted to the floor. Beam position space also must be considered. This is all important to have steady and reliable racking.
