Do you need a dock seal?
Dock seals provide protection from the elements. They save their users money by covering up those small gaps seen around parked trailers. Left alone, these gaps can cause significant damage.
Loading Dock Seals are an important part of overall dock safety. They are both a safe and efficient dock solution.
If you are looking for an upgraded dock seal, consider a dock shelter. They are more expensive but provide a longer life span. They are typically larger and better at covering gaps. They are more prone to wear and tear, however, this can be mitigated with friction-resistant fabric.
How to order a properly fitting dock seal
First, make sure to get your dimensions. We need to know the width and height of opening of your dock. We also need to know left, right, and top clearance.
Next, consider the area around the dock. What is the extension from the building and dock bumper projection? What about the dock height? Is the door next to another dock that requires a seal or shelter?
You may also want an edge of dock leveler. If you have a gap from the edge of a loading area to a truck or ramp. If you have an edge of dock leveler, then seal must be ordered with a 20-inch projection.
